I'm starting to feel a little frustrated in City of Heroes.

I bought my first PC game for my laptop. Actually, This is the second PC game I've bought for my laptop. The first was Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic. That seemed like it could be a fun game but turned out to play all crappy on my computer. It was SSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW.
So, my friend Marc was hyping this game, City of Heroes. He gets a whole bunch of other people playing the game. And I'm feeling all left out.
Based on my bad experience with KOTOR, I'm somewhat reluctant to invest money in something that won't work on my video card. I try to find a demo of the game, but there isn't. I have to go to CompUSA and buy it for 50 bucks and then pay them more money per month to play. What a scam.

Anyways, City of Heroes is a fun game. But alas my video card, an ATI Radeon IGP 340M, which I guess is not really a card but a hack of some kind, doesn't display this game very well. As a result, you get pictures like the above. BUT, this is the big BUT, it is still playable.
So, this is my first MMORPG. And the rep that they have is that it's like having a second job except you're paying for it. What makes this game different is that your job isn't to make shirts or kill rats, your job is to whack criminals. I'm only level 8 right now.
Around last night I started to feel the monotony creeping in. Going around whacking criminals for experience points, just to get to the next level that opens up new abilities or enhancements. Or lets you get missions in the next area.
What started to make the game fun is the teams. You'll go around whacking stuff and someone will ask you to be on their team. I'm like, "Alright, since I'm getting nowhere on my own." And your combined powers make you all but unbeatable.
I'm a tanker. I'm pretty resiliant. So, my tactic is to run through the crowd of thugs and turn around and start hitting them with my mace. That way, the other guy or guys can start shooting them in the back or spray sparkly stuff at them that makes it easier for me to kill them. And they back me up by healing me every once in a while.
Still, once the missions are over and everyone departs. I'm left alone in the game to go around and whack stuff by myself. And it's not as fun.
I spend a large amount of time in this position:

Just restin' until the next mission.
So, anyways, if you're ever on the Freedom server, look for The Blind Dwarf Rup. He's described as a midget with a bad video card that doesn't display the game properly so he can only see shapes and outlines. Say hello or ask me to be on your team. We'll do a mission or two.
Be warned. I get lost easily and spend a lot of time running into walls.
