Week 1 -- 5 miles

5 mile week 1

Here's the gps track for my first long run training for the NYC Marathon. I'm looking forward to watching the line grow longer and longer in the coming weeks.

Some stats:

Time:01:22:16
Avg Pace:16:22 min/mi
Best Pace:06:34 min/mi

Nice slow leisurely pace. Begins with 5 minutes walking warm up and ends with 5 minutes cool down. In the middle, I was doing a walk/run cycle of 4 minutes walking and 1 minute runs.

This is in keeping with my goal of doing the marathon in the easiest, laziest, least impact, lowest pain possible.

This year I'm running for charity, The Aubrey Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center.
